Im pretty set on a zeiss conquest, but i was just wondering if there is anything better out there for ABOUT $450, looking for a 3-9 or a 3-12, a little more magnification woulnt hurt but its not completely necessary. this will be going on a 300 WSM, so it needs decent eye relief.  Thanks

That price increase on the Conquest line might change some stuff...

Sightron S2 Big Sky is my choice.I own both scopes and find the Sightron better.Best warranty in the business and since your using it for hunting the lens coating helps in wet conditions.

I'm partial to the elite 4200 or Sightron BigSky if you plan on hunting in any foul weather. I couldn't see squat out of my Conquest on a rainy/foggy day.

All the scopes mentioned are going to be good scopes maybe some have a slight edge on others.....In a case like this you might want to go with the scope that has the best warranty and has a good reputation with customer service

The new VX-3 is better than the current VXIII, I can't speak for the conquest, but the new vx-3 compares pretty well my meopta r1, with r1 slightly better optically.  I'll have a full amateur review of the new VX-3 early to mid next week.
