I recently had a gunsmith tell me that he had the best performance with a 180 gr boattail balistic tip cant remember brand.
Anyone out there can shed some of their experience please. Thanks

Having owned a 300 WSM for several years now, I would suggest reloading. It makes much more affordable to shoot. You might also check out South West Ammunition. They not only offer their own ammo, but will reload your brass.

If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

The cost to get into reloading vs how many rounds I will actually shoot will take a decade or more to break even if that soon

you can keep that kicking s.o.b. i will keep shooting my .300wby and my .375H&H. i hated the .300wsm i had. it sure loved 180gr sierra pro hunters though....

I love my 300 WSM, it primarly a hunting rifle, it hits hard. I just shot a doe with it last Wednesday. To messy to photo but dang that round hits with authority. I shoot the winchester silver balistic tips, 150gr I think.

My 300wsm shoots just about any factory ammo I put in it around 1/2 to 3/4 inches. Hand loading it likes 180 and 200 grain accubonds the best for hunting. Way to much bullet, but it is extremely accurate.

Using that bullet I'm not surprised at all. I used the 150 .308 Nosler BT when they first came out. 2 deer was enough for me.

1st deer I shot with one was a quatering to me shot in the brisket. Only part of the deer I could see. Threw away both shoulders (front ones ) and part of the tenderloin.

I bet he wasn't if he was the one doing the butchering. LOL
Some of us had a bunch of does hanging in a barn skinning and gutting when I came on one that showed no bullet wound I could see real quick. I asked whose it's was and a young neighbor boy said it was his and proceeded to show me that he had shot it right up butt hole. I just handed him my knife.
