Maybe you guys can help me in my situation. I bought a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 7mm/08 a couple of years ago. I have been saving my money for the best low light scope on the market. I am choosing between a Schmidt/Bender Zenith, Zeiss Diavari, and the Swarovski Z6. I hunt up the tree late so you guys give me your opinions on the best lowlight scope and I appreciate it in advance!

Zeiss may have a slight edge in glass, but I do not think you will find any sort of a tangible difference in the low light performance of these three scope lines.  All three are very good.

If I had the money I would get the Zeiss Diavari 6-24X72.  Could be too much scope for a 7mm 08.

Narrow -

From a lowlight perspective, you would be very happy with all [3].  I have looked through all of them and telling a difference is very, very difficult as Koshkin implies.

For my money, I would go with the Z6 in the 1.7-10x42.

I own the same rifle in a 300WM (great gun) and would recommend the Swaro, for the sake of weight and size as much as optical value.  On that gun, you need something relatively small and leight and the Z6 will fit the bill.  With all due respect to the Taker above, don't even consider putting a 72mm objective on that rifle, it's a 7-pound gun made for moving and shaking and that scope is made for planting your ass on a bench in or in a blind all day.

You need something that tracks well, moves naturally with that gun and lights up the wolrd in failing light.  I'd get the Swaro.  I just bought a smaller (cheaper) swaro on my Tikka T3 270 and could not possibly be happier: great glass, compact, light, just feels right on that rifle.

Don't get a monster scope, you will regret it on the hunt.  Get the Z6.

And buy it at SWFA, service is second to none!

I agree it's too big for a T3 lite I happen to have that same rifle you have coolaid.  I wouldn't put a 72mm obj on any rifle that is not a stand hunting gun.  That's why i have a Kahles C 3-12X56, makes an excellent package.  Anywho, he said best low light perfomance that's why I mentioned the 72, even though it is a too much scope.  The new Z6 is really nice, and would work really well for his application.   It's very compact, nice scope.

Thanks for the help and I am going to take a look through a Swaro Z6 soon at the local hunting shop.
