I'm buying a new Win. Model 70 .25 WSSM Coyote-Light with a 22" fluted SS barrel and I'm looking for a good starter scope for varmint hunting.  I'm hoping to be able to get a really great scope or even a nightvision/day scope some time down the road; but at the moment the rifle is the only big investment I can make.  I'm looking for something under $300- and under $225 if I can!- to get me started.  I'm going to be using it as a ranch rifle so it'll be in the back of the truck a lot and I'll be shooting everything from Deer to Hogs to Coyotes and 'coons to bunnies & buzzards.  We go out a lot during the full moon, hunting the roads and the fields by moonlight, so I need something with a pretty big lens diameter- I think.  With my 10X50 Binoculars I can pick out a hog really easily at 500 yards on the road and a Coyote at a pretty good range too.  So, that's why I was figuring a large lens diameter would help me out.

Any help y'all can give me in picking out some options to look at, I'd sure appreciate it!  BTW- For what it's worth, I'm hunting in S.Texas mostly.

I look forward to your responses

How about a 10x Super Sniper at $299. (You probably wont ever feel a need to go to something more expensive after using one a while.) If you go with the side focus model it will cost $399.
