Hey guys, looking to put a higher magnification scope on my Browning Eclipse. Was looking at a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40AO new for about $370. I have a 4200 3-9 x40 already wich I am impressed with, just not sure about the higher magnification  ones and why it is so cheap. Any others i should consider???? Thanks guys

I have the 4200 6-24x40 mildot side parralax model. For the money i payed it has been excellent. The glass is great. Its been put through hell and back and still holds zero after two and a half years. its on my remmy .308. I would recommend it.

Kind of depends on your intended purpose (ranges, targets, conditions, etc). The 4200's are good, solid scopes. They are "cheap" because the 3200 and 4200's are being "replaced" by a newer version just called Elite. You could do much worse for sure.

It is used for everything from target shooting to deer hunting with maybe even an occasional prarie dog shoot. The gun is a tack driver even with a 3-9x on it can't wait for a little more power.

Is the new Elite out yet??? Is it a pretty much a 4200 with new name or is it more of a blend of the 3200 and 4200 scopes???

The new Elite's are available (as far as I know). Check the 4-16 X 40...that may be what you are seeking. Depending upon reticle, it's between $450-$500. Of course, you could get a Zeiss Conquest too. Another possibility is the Sightron Big Sky 3-12 X 42. It's $515, but there is a $75 rebate going on now. I'd definitely go through the Sample List here. Good deals...save some cash! Smile

Just went to a local sporting retailer in town and had a look. No Elite 4200's in town but looked through a Nikon Monarch 5-20 x 44 that I loved. Is more then I want to spend especially since I would need to invest in higher rings as well. How will the 4200 6-24 x 40 compare to the monarch as far as clarity and low light conditions??? Wish I could have found a 4200 to look through would have made the decision much easier.
