lol, and u thought this was a special post. okey i really really need more help than probably about anybody o n here. okey bear with me for a bit. i need a gun that is just plain out FUN. lol caliber doesn't really matter. i've come out with a few choices. then i'll list the pros and cons for each gun. all of the following guns are kind of sort of on a budget. lol i'm trying to keep it under 515 out the door but we all know that this can be a problem when picking toys. okey heres my choices

Springfield Armory XD: Pros. good reviews, fits hand decent, compact
Cons. Not the best gun to hand fit, ugly as a mov,bad finishes ( reviewers problems)

Springfield 1911 A1 Mil Spec: Pros. great look, respectiable quality to my abuse, gREAT reviews, plus its a cool lookingi 1911 gun
Cons. only comes in a 45 caliber ( not sure on what caliber i want)

Glock 17 pros. Good caliber selection, proven name, accurate by review good hand to gun fit
cons. its rather expencive for what u get, ugly, and i've heard bad things about the safty of this firearm.

Tarus 92 Pros. modeled after a proven gun, good caliaber, looks okey, handels well, safty is good,
cons: i don't like my guns to have to be a clone gun, not sure on the Taurus part or reliability accuracy.

Ruger p90 pros: good finish, god caliber, tough as a tank, Ok reviews,
cons: not the greatist reivews, ugly, haven't researched it much.

like i said earlier these are just my opinions of the guns i've seen. can somebody give me some insight as to what i need to look more into.  remeber price is a factor thanks soo much . peace

Most guns from reputable manufacturers will shoot well enough.  Buy the gun that fits best in your hand.  As for caliber selection, with modern bullets it is really not that big of a deal.  Personally, I prefer 357Sig and 45ACP, but I also shoot 9mm and 40S&W regularly.  If you intend to practice a lot it may make sense to buy a gun that has a 22LR conversion kit available (I use it a fair bit with my Glock 31).

If you are trying to stay on a budget take a good like at used SigSauer guns.  I bought my P220 used and it still works like clockwork.

Sig 229 with both barrels .357 / .40

I love mine.  It has night sights and an internal guide rod laser.

Chris,

Where did you get your internal guide rod laser? Does it have a means to adjust POI?

Thanks in advance

Todd

I stole it out of a Sig we took on trade and listed the Sig on GunBroker.

Sig 229 on GunBroker

It lined up perfect with my open sights when I installed it.

Here is a link to the factory web site.

No, only the Lasermax 1911 model does.
