So just looking for a starting point here some opinions and direction. I have a.270 i need a new scope for rarely shoot over 350yds here in MD but you never know. Trying to keep it under 500$ which will still be an upgrade for me i would say my best current scope is just a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40. Pretty nice for the sale price i paid but looking to move on up! This forum has been a great help for me maximizing my bang for the buck in binos. Thanks to all. Oh yeah i am also looking for a nice scope for my .50 cal. T/C Encore???????

I'll be the first, but hopefully not the last to suggest this one.

I don't normally recommend scopes, just make suggestions for things to look at.  Your described requirements call out for a 3-9 SuperSniper.  Yes, it is a little more than what you wanted to pay, but it is the last scope you would ever need or want, I think, for that rifle.  Check it out.

The 3-9 SS mentioned above is an absolute awesome scope. The glass is very clear and it is a very usable hunting and tactical scope.  It has been proven in both fields.  It is slightly more but well worth it!

I'll also recommend the Conquest for your .270.

For your muzzleloader I'll suggest this scope due to it's reticle.

I'd also suggest checking out a Sightron Big Sky 3-9 X 42 with the HHR reticle. It runs about $435. Smile

Well the conquest is a good suggestion for a real upgrade from what you have and there are some good deals to be had around the web on the elite 4200 series as they are being closed out and then there is the current closeout of the Vortex vipers which are a good buy. As to a scope for your muzzle loader what are you going to do with your current 3200? Set it on it's lowest setting and you s/b good to go. However you could keep a eye on the sample list as frequently there are nice buys on shotgun/ muzzle loader scopes there. I use a simple 4x bushnell on my inline and it has done a good job. Maybe a weaver classic k4 or one of the little sightron sii 4x. An encore is pretty compact so maybe even one of the little redfield 2-7x33.

Might want to consider one of these for your M/L ($170.00) http://swfa.com/Vortex-2-7x32-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P10818.aspx. These are great little scopes, put one on my REM597 .22lr and love it. I would second the Sightron SIIB 3-9x42 but I prefer the standard Plex reticle ($305.00 after rebate)  http://swfa.com/Sightron-3-9x42-SII-Big-Sky-Riflescope-P9158.aspx  for your .270. I have one of these as well and it's a heck of a nice scope. With the $75.00 rebate it's a great deal right now. You would have two great scopes for less than $500.00.

This is the one that has me thinking hard...
Good glass, 1.5-6x is just about perfect and the reticle is very nice.

Thanks for all of the responses as for the Elite 3200 it has moved on to another rifle so my .270 is currently sitting naked! Thanks for everyone's opinions.

Just recieved my 1.5-6 ED today and it's a sweet scope. Mine doesn't have the illuminated retical though. At 1.5 power a shot on a running deer at as little as 10 yards would be easy and 6x is more then enough for 300 yard shots. The glass is good enough that 6x with the ED was better then 9x with my buckmaster.
