I am hunting hogs and deer and targets from 300 yrds and in.
The M4 is in .223 and .308- I prefer a scope that mounts to the carry handle (or its pic rail base) and will work in front of a monoscope (MUM or PVS-14). I prefer mil dot or other ranging reticle. The scope must be variable (2 or 3 x min and up as far as is practice given the platform size). I prefer not to have to buy extra rails or monuts. I have supressors for both calibers. I am inexperienced with the scopes that fit easily. The M4 is a post Obama investment- new. The SPS Tach is in .308. It will be supressed at times with subsonic ammo. At other times, it will be a deer/ hog rifle out to 300yds or so. It too must work with the monoscope. Same reticle preferences as above. 3 or 4 power min up to whatever. I am most inexperienced with the monoscope issues and the subsonic/ supressor issues as it relates to scope choices. I can afford to buy what I want, but I hate to buy BMW when by Nissan is more reliable and faster and tows better. I am more impressed by data than by labels, brands, etc. For example- I like reliable companies in the US, but will not pay 20% more for the name i a compettator is just as trustworth and reliable. I am willing to buy excellent optics for a life long investment buy need not over buy just because I can. Thanks in advance- M7 |
