Do a Google search Google It and take a look at the Manfrotto 561BHDV.

If budget matters, there is a very nice basic monopod from National Geographic still available for $40 here:

It folds compactly with 5 elements and is a bit over 5 ft high, with a QR plate included.
It is a bit flimsy if fully extended, so probably not the best for taller users, but otherwise an excellent value.

You can spend fairly large bucks on a mono-pod and seing how I only use mine for bino's and photography, I decided to pick-up a very inexpensive one at a Target store for a grand total of $15 bucks. I have seen this exact model at some of the so called NYC discount houses for $20-30 bucks and it appears identical in every way for half the price. It has the screw top to accept bino heads like the Nikon unit and I'm sure it would also accept the shooting V-rest from companies like BogPod. It's lightweight and extends to 6ft.
