I am looking for a new scope. after looking it seems due to my rifle a ruger m77 i will need to go with a 42mm objective diameter or smaller. I dont want to do the ruger to weaver mount. so for under $1500 what would my best bet be. i want a something 2-10,3-9 power, or something along those lines. illuminated reticle. Low light performance is my biggest concern, but needs to have a good clear glass that doesn't fog. I will be hunting dense woods to open fields 20-400 yards. What would be my best option.

ERi. The VX-6 is a good option but if you can afford the additional freight, the Leica is a better option,

Hmmmm, will not say its the best scope, but its pretty darn decent and optics are quite good. Might want to consider a Weaver Super Slam 3-15x42 SF. |

The Leica is likely better ... but it's about $100 over the stated budget. I'd go with the VX6 Leupy mentioned above. It will be fine. Use the extra coin for ammo!

Think " Demo " for the Leica ERi and you will come in under the $1500 roof.
