Burris FFII would be my choice. While I think the Bushnell mentioned above will have slightly better glass, it's a small difference and in the long run I think you will be much better off with the Burris. I also think turrets are better on the Burris than the Bushnell. If you buy the Bushnell, just hope you never have a problem, because if you do expect to have a ton of trouble getting it fixed if you even can.

I have a Burris FF II 3x9x40 and it's been a proven workhorse for me for about 10 or 12 yrs. And the bushnell 4200 has good reports also. You can't go wrong with either one.

This.
I have two of them and IMHO, you can't beat them for the price they are selling for now.

the only thing worth getting in that $ range with tac turrets is the bushnell 10x40 elite. at least that i know of.
i'd go with the burris FFII, simply because bushnell's CS blows. and the burris can be had on SL for around 130, for the 3-9 |

Another vote for the Bushy. The Rainguard is nice too.

4200 or the FFII, both work really well. The 4200 are being discontinued and will be labeled http://swfa.com/Bushnell-3-9x40-Elite-Rifle-Scope-P48274.aspx which is a great price.
It is too bad that Nikon dropped the plain Jane 3-9x40 Monarch. It was a wonderful scope for two bills. All said for the money now, I would get the Elite. |
