Went to the range today to do some load work up with Berger 185gr. hunting VLD's. Rifle is a Savage model 11 chambered in .300 WSM. Brass was Federal (full-length sized) and CCI 250 magnum primers. Powder being used was IMR 4350 in weights of 58.5, 59, 59.5, and 60gr. loaded in five round lots.

The first four w/ one round low.

The next 15, after a 4 MOA dope change. The two flyers were totally my fault! Ithought it was really cool that they all were so close to the same point of impact, and less than 1 MOA for the main group(1.377 outside to outside). Now all I have to do is try RL22 also.
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Curious to see how fast they are coming out of that .300 WSM.

Berger's info states max load of 60.4 grains of Imr 4350, and 2923fps out of a 26 inch test barrell. They do not list what kind of primer is used, at least in the emails I recived. The next time I have some time at home (only one day off this weekend), I will try to barrow my buddies chrony.
