Likely to be hard or expensive to get Japanese replacement parts for things built in Japan.
 
I've had two Japanese foreign exhange students who came and lived with our family for a while about ten years ago. One of them we still keep in touch with and she does not live near that area so it was a relief to hear that her family was OK.
