My current scope is with Leupold customs. Some 4 months ago I was helped out with a loan scope. A Leupold Mk4 LR/T 8,5-25. At the time I zeroed it on my rifle (308Win). I zeroed the turret hash marks ...loosening allen screw and spinning dials.
A week or so later I returned the scope.
I again needed a scope this week-end (4 months later.) The scope given to me was the same scope...same serial number so exact same scope. I mounted the scope and zeroed it today at the range. From the amount of turns to get it on paper during bore-sighting it was obvious that the dials had been spun a lot in the shop. I placed my first shot, then held the cross hairs on the bull and dialed the crosshairs to cover the bullet hole( All at 100m). Shot another shot adjusted two clicks down. Another shot to check and the puppy was zeroed. No further dialingneeded.
I then checked the hash readings on the turret dials. Windage 0 Elevation 0 !!!! Exactly as I had left them!!! Let me just add rings have been lapped and the scope fits snug as a bug in a rug.
I dialed 7 clicks up for the 200m, one shot dead nuts.
For the rest I shot in a small club event of impala targets and also had some fun with gongs out to 500m.
I had also taken my 300H&H loaded with 200gr SGK along. Topped with a leupold 3,5-10. The rifle was last out of the safe a year ago during hunting season. When I opened the safe it just jumped up and down begging "take me with...please"
First shot at 100m, 1 inch above bull, dead in line. Took a 200m 8inch gong dead center and rung some steel. Took a 300m 1 gong above and just missed over the top. I forgot how flat the 300 H&H shoots. Took the next shot half a gong over the top and heard the twack. No adjusting needed. Packed her in the case, ready for huntin'time!!
Great Saturday fun.

Now you're making me wish I had never sold mine. Hopefully I'll have the cash to get one after I pick up one of their VX-R's.

Repeatable and accurate adjustments were one of best features of my Mark 4.
