Rats! My 60's model B&L 15-60 just developed an issue.
I can still see individual needles on a Fir about 200 yds away and can see the rings of Saturn, but- the little B&L emblem just fell off (luckily, right into my lap.)
That's right, after almost 50 yrs, it seems to be going south.

If I can find as good a glue as they used to stick that shield on in the first place, it'll be good to go.
Of course, I could always go get something new, but having looked through quite a few others, my wallet would be a lot lighter just to equal the B&L's performance.

Gorilla Glue

Pick it up at any hardware store.  Works wonders.

What 60's B&L do you have?  Discoverer?  Balvar?
What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

Yeah, I was thinking about Gorilla Glue. If it lasts as long as the old glue, it'll outlast me.
It's a Balscope Zoom 60. 15-60x60... I think it was the predecessor of the Discoverer and that the Balscope Sr. was this scope's big brother.
There are obviously better optics on the market, but at quite a price to get better resolution. Just about all modern coatings have better color correction, etc. It resolves 'bullet trace' on 15x.
You could say I'm too cheap to buy something better and be right...
Here's an old ad for this scope from '63:
