I am trying to mount a Barska ridgeline 3-12 x44 scope, using UTG rings, which are connected to one another by a rail. The scope has an angled protrusion on the bottom that contacts the connecting rail before the scope is properly aligned, leaving the scope at a slight angle. Did I just get the wrong kind of rings, I never saw any that were connected like this.

You may need taller rings. I am not clear on the problem.
One thing to learn is the rings can be the weakest link that effects accuracy. And low quality rings are the first thing that damages a scope. What part of Texas are you located SWFA is in Midlothan. Just South of Dallas. The staff will be happy to help you mout the scope properly. Like the speakers to a stereo. It don't matter near as much to the stereo connected. It is the speakers that make the sound. |

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow Now the rules have changed again. |

I was told the UTG rings were good quality, they seem very well made and certainly quite sturdy. Looks like taller rings might be the answer, though. I am in Killeen, by Ft Hood

Aware of your problem, had to deal with it a couple of times. Chuckle, my solution was to take a round file and deal with the area of the mount that the plug like part sticking out of your scope contacts. Did this to avoid having to buy higher rings to avoid having the scope mounted higher than I liked.
