Has anyone here used that Cheytac ABC software?  How does it compare to lets say, Nightforce or any of the other big names?

Any feedback is appreciated.

I've only used the "Lee" software and I guess its appropriate for the shooting I do, which is primarily for hunting.  I don't know how it would be for long range target, but its inexpensive and easy to use.

Thanks so far, I guess I should be more specific.  I'm looking for something thats good for 1000 yard shots.  Being able to be loaded on a PDA would be nice too, but not necessary.

I guess I wanted to shoot this question out into a group of knowledgeable people and see what would come up.

These are freeware for Palm applications. I have the second one on my Palm Treo. It seems to work ok. Will calculate energy, speed of sound at your elevation, rate of twist needed, recoil, minute of angle needed for range reload cost, and detailed trajectory out to whatever range you input.

the cheytac stuff is way past most of the commercial, and compares with oehler and patagonia. sierria infinity is as sophisticated but is toned down more for the commercial market. this one is used by a large numbers of long distance shooters and one of the better web.

nightforce, zeiss and swaro all use various forms of exbal

I have Exbal, and really like it--works on my old Sony Clie'. My partner uses it on a Dell Axim, and it's very nice.

I have been playing around with the one on Swaro's website and it has been very helpful.  I need to get a chrono!

Do a search for free Killzone ballistics program. I'm going to put it on my TI-83 plus calculator after I get a cable for Calc to PC.
