I will be mounting badger ordnance rings on a armalite M-15A4(T) rifle.  I plan on using a SS20x42 scope for target shooting.  The rings will be mounted directly on the flat top with no riser.  I am looking to get badger ordnance Max-50 scope rings ( 1.125" high ) stock number:  30613.  The description makes it sound like they will fit fine, but I just wanted to check with some first hand knowledge. Thanks!

MAX 50's are serious over kill for the rifle you mentioned. I only run the standard badger rings on a bolt 300 WM and have never had them shift. A medium height ring will work with the SS on your platform.

Joe

Obviously, I know they are designed for the .50 cal.  Better safe than sorry for long-range target shooting.

Joe's right. The Max 50's are too much ring for that setup friend. Having owned Badger's before, I say that with confidence.

Anybody that knows weapons will think that your setup looks stupid with the 50's.

No offence intended.

Welcome to OT.

Check out:  http://www.riflescopes.com/ss_review_gunblast.asp  I don't think it looks too bad myself.

Which would you suggest for this setup then?  I want to keep it close to the upper.  I was originally planning on possibly swapping these rings onto my Rem 700 which was why I wanted to go with these, but I think I am going to just spend the extra money to do it right and get rings matched per the weapon.

I like Joe's suggestion. Go with the standard rings, in medium height.

You can't get any better than Badger, friend. But as Joe elluded to, the Max 50's are OVER KILL!!

I promise you the standard will work wonderfully.

Best of luck!!
