I now have decided to put Badger base and rings on my Rem 700P with a SS16X scope but can't tell which base I need. They list 2, the Badger Maximized Lugged Scope 1 piece rail and the Badger Maximized Scope 1 piece rail. I don't understand the "Lugged" and don't know if I need it or the plain. Both are 20 MOA and the Lugged is more expensive. I would appreciate if someone could explain the difference so I can know which to get.

You need the regular SA rail, if your Remmy P is a short action .308.

The "lugged" rail is for sloted actions, according to the Badger page above.

You need this one, unless you went with the long action.

Excellent choice of gear!!

Edit because I linked the Left Handed version instead of the right hand version.

Bad habit....

Hope to hand load eventually but must tackle one obstacle at a time. Mostly I will target shoot but also plan to hunt wild hogs. Most shots should be 200-300 yards. Can't wait!
