Just damnitall........ That really sucks. My thoughts and prayers for his family. I hope they catch the bastard that decided it was a good idea to leave him there to die.

Terrible tragedy for his family.  Absolutely no excuse for this - not an accident, downright negligence.  Despicable behaviour from the coward who caused this.

Very sad, I read about another one where the boy`s father shot and killed him recently, I don't know how anyone could live with that.

A person may not be able live with it as far as one kin shooting another kin or one friend shooting another friend but you'd be surprised how one stranger shooting another can act.  We're talking, while hunting.

Bad enough that he had to die by someone taking a pot shot at a sound, but to leave the man there...  Whomever did it had to know they hit him, and I would wager a guess that after enough time and nightmares, they will come forward and confess.

I hate to hear of such things. I feel for this young man's family. I hope this is thoroughly investigated and the person responsible is brought to justice.

I would presume he didn't die instantly if he was hi with a turkey load.  It would take a truly heartless person to walk away from somebody in that condition.  I hope justice is served.

This is why I'm starting to seriously consider ONLY hunting on private hunt clubs.  When I hunted in Namibia I was on a 75,000 acre PRIVATE ranch and never once felt in danger from errant shots from other people.  Anyone on that land with a rifle other than us was a poacher and was to be shot immediately.

It seems SOME PEOPLE know no borders/property lines/boundries when comes to turkey hunting.  They hear a gobbler and it's get in there, get it,and get out.  Sometimes it's NOT a bird.

My condolences go out to the family. I can't believe things like this happen as frequently as they do. Its just downright irresponsible practices that lead to these sorts of "accidents."

My prayers and condolences go out to Shawn Stewart's family.  I have nothing but contempt for Robert Tobias.  There is no excuse that can suffice for such an incident.

The link won't allow me access to the site, and they don't respond to my username and password registration with a confirmation E-mail.
Can anybody provide another link or give me a quick rundown of the circumstances; age of the shooter, etc.?

THANKS ALOT,Craig!  My link went south I see. I  REALLY APPRECIATE it!

I want to add that our Governor recently signed into law a bill that makes it a felony if you fail to provide aid to someone you have shot while hunting.  I can't access our web site(virus alert) to get the specifics or name of the bill. Not sure if the bill will apply to this case or not.

Accidental shooting are always tragic, I have seen too many in my line of work.  Today there were 7 kids shot in Detroit while waiting for a bus.  I sometimes wonder what ever happened to the responsible part of gun ownership. We have hunting safety classes, defensive arms classes and a few more but how do you keep people from just being irresponsible and shooting at a sound. How can anyone shoot at something they have not identified first. Somehow I think a person should be able to tell the difference between a human and a turkey before they own a gun.  How do you solve the problem of drive by shooting ?? We had a young man killed here in Wichita because the guy in a car did not like the way the kid "looked" at his car. They had never spoken to each other or meant before. Wish I had answers to the total lack of humanity we see in some people now.
Duce Sad

Would you believe that there is,supposedly,a temporary psychological condition used to defend those who shoot a person while hunting?  It's not that they "mistook" the person for game, they"actually"saw the game.
