Killed this 8-pointer with my bow right before dark this evening, about 300 yards behind a buddy's house (who lives near me).

He'd been telling me he's seen deer traveling to a pond on his land, and asked me if I'd be interested in hunting there. Would I be interested?!!!! Haha!

Anyway, I simply setup a folding chair inside some brush along the edge of a field as a makeshift "blind," near some converging trails leading toward the pond.

These are cell phone pics taken after dark, hence the poor quality.

Great buck, Brother!

Your story reminds me of the guy in Kent, OH who was showing off a pic of a 21 point deer he arrowed...out of the back door of his house, while it browsed under his wife's clothes line. He was in his long johns and his wife held the back door open while he drew back and let flew.

Haha! Yeah, you westerners don't give antlered critters full credit for the head ornamentation they grow. What's up with that?

Nice Ted, real nice, congrats. Excellent

As to the westerners I always figured they couldn't count past 5.

Those FMJ and the older ACC's were my favorite shafts. Now, I just use cheapie Super Slams. They fly perfectly out of my older UltraTec.

Nice patina on the rack. I like the darker racks over the bone white. It gives more character.
Diana said I have to be nice so congratulations. Wink To think you turned down digging a ditch for that.
