I recently ordered a 10x42 SS scope, badger Max 50 rings, a sunshade, flip open scope caps, and a SS hat.  A day later I get a message that all the items are back ordered.  Why not say the items are on back order on the order form like most other companies do?  It's not a big deal to me since I don't actually have the rifle that most of these items will go on but it would have been nice to know if the items were in stock before I ordered them.

Welcome to OT..........
It's not proper etiquette to post on the open forum a complaint with it's host. That's not what it's designed purpose is. Send a PM to someone at SWFA or send them an E-mail.
These things can happen, no matter where you order from.

Ryan, SWFA goes through a TON of Super Snipers in a weeks time.
US Military and LE personel purchase MANY of these scopes at a moments notice.
If it were me, I'd gladly wait to get mine so our brothers in arms can get theirs.

I seriously doubt you will be waiting very long, my friend.

I'm by no means complaining.  Please excuse any comment that may have been misconstrued as a complaint.  SWFA has been a Godsend over other companies and the SS line is what I've been looking for for a long while.  I'm a pillar of patience and don't have a problem waiting.  I'm currently trying to get a day off during the week so I can go order the 50 caliber rifle the SS will sit on top of.

Please accept my most humbe apology if my post was considered a complaint.

Thank you,

Ryan

I've visited the SWFA building in Dallas, Tx. It is amazing to see the huge quantity of optics they have.  The SS scopes are quite popular and eaven if you only maintained an in stock or out of stock on that item alone it could switch multiple times daily and be virtually impossible to keep up with.  I understand the frustration of placing an order to find out it is backordered as I have had this happen - my suggestion is call them by phone and ask them to check availability of the product you wish to purchase.  We  have to all accept the fact that military items are in short supply and demand is high right now.
On a side note I really dont see a huge value to the 50 bmg due to the cost of the ammo and weight of the rifle. I think a .338 Lapua would be a gun you could pick up and run with and a 300 Win Mag or  300WSM eaven more pracitcal.  I gave it a lot of thought before I ordered my 300 WM.    Not a lot of places will let you shoot a 50 .

I have a supply of private property with good thick embankments around creeks.  We also received a large supply of used rail road ties from the rail road nearby.  I'm going to build a good thick backstop using the ties, tires, and sand.  I'll then take a piece of sheet steel and cover the back of the target to catch the few slugs that might make it through.  I figure something along the lines of 6' to 8' thick ought to do.

I don't really know exactly why I want the 50.  I have many guns but the 50 has always been out of reach for one reason or another.  The 50 to me is like a really hot hottie that is out of my league but is still an attainable goal and there's really nothing stopping me from getting it but the courage to step up and take a chance.   I have a Rock River Arms LAR 15 varmint, a Remington 700 Varmint in 220 swift, a Savage .338 Win Mag, and a host of other firearms that are fun to shoot but lack the special characteristics of the 50.  I like the challenge of having to be extra careful and aware of over penetration.  I accept the challenge of constructing a 50 caliber proof backstop...after all if it's 50 caliber proof, it's all gun proof (except for Anzio's 20mm).  I can't wait to see the fireball at the muzzle at night.
