Thanks Mike, I'l add these to my list to check out. I'm glad to see that I'm getting pretty consistent info from you guys. More importantly, it's obvious which scopes/maufacturers you are NOT suggesting, which rings clearly also...saves me lots of time (and money) not bothering with the lesser quality optics.

There are alot of good scopes on the market but when I made my recomendations I took some specifics into account.
Your budget
Your criteria
Cost of a blown hunt due to optics failure.

Can you imagine paying 4-8K for a decent bull elk hunt and losing the shot due to fogged/failed/hard to adjust/complicated optics?

Same critieria applies to life threatening situations................literally "You Bet Your Life"

All my rifles are equipped with those things in mind.
