Still foolin arround with things.  Decided to mess up some bluing the other day, messed it up pretty good. Decided to build another rifle and started rounding up some spare parts, you know, an action here, a barrel there.! Well the stuff needs some bluing so Im dragging out all the "old cold blue" stuff to see what still works. Well most of it went in the trash, it did cause me to clean the shop if anything. Went to see a buddy gunner to look at his hot blue set-up figguring Id do a hot blue, until I looked in the caustic tank.!  There was stuff from Mars growing in there.!  Been waiting on a new barrel for 6 months, finally got it. Some how I just cant see dropping my new barrel into " the sludge from Mars".!! You could eat this stuff with a spoon for pete sakes.!!  Well, back to the task, I go on line with a six pack of my buddies to look for whats hot in the bluing world and arround buddy # 4 I find this site called Shooters Solutions.. Cant tell if its more hype like everybody else, but they are CMP endorsed if that means anything.?  Im going to givem a shot, but in the meantime have any of you heard of them.?

Hi Ho Silver, yes Ive been there.! Ive used the Oxpho Blue and the Dicropan T-4

often .. It is easy to use, but doesnt last very long.  The T-4 is nice and black, but the Oxpho is longer lasting. If you use the Oxpho it takes "ALOT" of rubbing to make it look right. Dunking is the way to do it, but you have to make a container about the size of the part and have at least a quart of chemical on hand.

Talked to the mad scientest at Shooter Solutions the other day, he has some

late and great stuff.  Im not a chemist, so he lost me right after I asked him if the stuff works.!
