You are coming to a crazy part of the world.  I see Schlumberger out here quite a bit.  You should be fine with them.  If you are ever around the Sidney area, or some free time in Stanley, give me a shout.  I know Pyro is out here as well working in the Stanley area.

Schlemberger is in the process of building a new big office in Williston right now, and this is the area that most of the drilling is going on.  Personally, I think you would be better off in Stanley.  Be careful in Wyoming.  For area it would be better, but a lot of oil down there has a lot of H2S.  The stuff up here is mostly sweet crude and H2S levels are really low.  Not to scare you or anything.  It is a great way to make a lot of money fast if you are willing to put the hours in.  Just don't plan on much of a life out here.  Work, eat, sleep, and talk to your better half.  That is about all there is time for, but if it provide for your family, that is what it takes.  I have a huge respect for those that support their families and care for them even if it means doing the hard thing.

It's been hard road cause I'm use to traveling to find work but once the kids came a long I kind of slowed down a little. Now that their all older and can understand why daddy isn't home it make it a little easier. Beside I'd rather not have a life for myself just so my kids can have the things I never did. It kills me to walk into a store have the kids say oh can we have this or that and not be able to buy for them. I think 160,000 a year sounds worth any kind of a risk right now, compared to the 10,000 to 12,000 I make now. I bust my backside to get no where fast around here. In the end I cant take it with me but my kids sure the hell can some fun :-)

It is nice to make some money.  If they are giving you 160k a year, get me on with you!!!!  I think I have heard the average wage around the Bakken is about 91k a year.  Some more, some less depending on the job, but it all pays really well.  Your family will love the hard work you do and the pay, and you will love giving them a great life.

160K what I was told I don't know if thats with all the benefits along with it or what. The things I do know is that they'll pay me to go to school for 3 weeks, its 15 days on 6 off while I'm off I'm paid a 40hr week pay day. Anything over 40 hrs is over time pay. They have a Great 401K. I think for a dirt poor country boy who never made over 30,000 year anything above 60,000 is good money. Smile Its to bad I didn't get into a little sooner now I'll have wait 20 more years to retire lol.
