Hello to all on the O.T. I was thinking about purchasing an a.t.n scope for a project i'm starting on a 300 win sendero. The problem is that i don't know of anyone around here who has owned one. So i am looking for any info you guys might have on them. I'm thinking about getting one of the higher magnification variables. With a b.d.c.

How did you decide on this scope? I'm thinking Leupold VXIII 4.5-14 x50 with a 30 mm tube and a boone & crocket or varmit reticle.

Thank you for the advice. The only reason i was pondering the atn is because of the prices these are going for on ebay. I was saving for a nightforce and spent most of the money i had saved on a zeiss conquest for another rifle. The sendero that i'm going to put it on is kind of a pet project.I was thinking about the leupold vx-III, but it would take me some more time to save for it . Thank you for the reply

ATN has a rather spotty reputation as far as day scopes are concerned.

I would recommend something else.

And no, I'm not suggesting you buying a Barska....

Thanks for the info cheap.Probobly stands the reason why nobody around here has one. Next question. Should i go with a nightforce or leupold? Either way i'll be saving for a while.

I would like to keep the cost around the 1000 to1300 bucks. The problem is the time it will take a family man on one income to save that much. The type of shooting i would be doing, targets and big game.Distances would be from 400 to 1000m.Thanks again for your input. Any help i can get is much appreciated. I don't want to waste my hard earned cash on a p.o.s

Heres what I did.

I bought a 10x Super Sniper w/ rear focus.

$300 bucks and your shooting NOW!!

Save up for something else if you like, but until then your rifle is scoped and your off and running.

You can literally sell your SS online if and when you want, for almost full list.

They don't depreciate much.

The more I shoot my SS the more I like it.

I felt like I stole it.

Or you can go with a Nikon Monarch, Sightron SII, Burris FFII or Sig. if you have to have a variable.

The Nikon Buckmaster w/ side focus is a hell of a deal also.

Lots of good options out there.

ATN rifle scopes are in my observation one of the worst on the market..........I had one years ago and tossed it in the trash so no one else would end up with it..

Hello, just an anecdote...

Was at the range the other day and a guy was shooting a Vulcan 50 w/big ATN 75 or 80mm obj, he had 300 Win Mag Rem with a Super Sniper 16x and a FAL with a Springfield Armory Government Gen3.  As we chit chatted, he was mentioning how he loved the Super Sniper and SA G3, but the ATN was giving him a lot of problems in focusing and holding zero.  Now he wasn't putting hundreds of rounds through the 50 but said something like 30 so far.  His opinion on that scope relative to the other two was not very high and he was definitely disappointed.  This was one of the bigger mag ATNs that sold in the ~$600 range.

Personally, I'd look elsewhere.

Keep us posted, Chris

I'd stay away from ATN.  I've seen good scopes fro them and crappy ones.  It's an absolute crapshoot and you never know what you are going to get.  Aweful quality control.

Thanks to all for all the info  I'm pretty sure i'll stay away from the atn no matter what the price. Probably going to order the ss at the end of this week if they are in stock.Once again thank you to all and i'll keep you posted.

An ATN on a "300 win sendero"?

I would guess a hundred rounds before the reticle and glass blow-out the tube

Good luck and keep us posted.
