Thanks for the info Chris.... Working on scope concept that will project range on lower area of reticle automatically when bracketed between cross hair center image area (fine lines) mill dot. Need to find patent dates....  info etc.  found out leatherwood has some connection to it.

If you are refering to the Viet Nam era ART scopes that Lt. Leatherwood designed, those patents would have expired years ago.  From my understanding, the current Leatherwood company is a Chinese owned outfit based in CA.  They apparently use Leatherwood as a figure head only and I think he still lives in the Dallas area.

John Wu owns JK International which makes Leatherwood scopes.  Jim Leatherwood is the design brains behind the reticles, dials, and bullet drop mounts.
