I just ordered the same powered scope while talking with Stephanie on the telephone Monday. She said these (in matte with the Nikoplex) were in stock...that was part of the reason I ordered it. So, I expect there is a good chance yours is in stock too...I have free long distance on my cellphone, so I just call to find out for sure if the scopes are in stock or not. Also, I got an email from SWFA confirming the shipping address, and another from UPS/SWFA that it had been sent, and I got a link to a UPS tracking page. UPS thinks they sent it, guess I do too!
For the 6.5-20x44 Nikon Matte BDC I have on backorder, Stephanie said she was expecting delivery on 12 March 2007. I can wait two weeks for a good deal from a source that has treated me exceptionally well as a customer.
Regards, Ron

Well Ron - a check of my bank account this morning showed the charge had suddenly disappeared so I guess you got the last one. I did receive an e-mail confirming my order but not shipping or back order information.
I ordered from SWT after some careful research and chose them because of all the good reviews I've read in the forums. So time will tell if I'm one of the fortunate ones that has a good experience or the guy who got the black bean.
Here's hoping and thanks for your reply.

Echo. what Big WHip and CAshooter said, I'm in the same boat with Big whip I ordered a BDC 6586 on Jan 29th. I'll get it however this is a sweet deal so I ordered the same scope but in Nikoplex for "future development" to take advantage of this awesome deal. I appreciate SWFA for providing an optics junky like myself the oppurtunity to purchase this scope at the price they've offered. As for the service I felt Stephanie in service did an outstanding job on providing me with details about my order and she deserve's a pat on the back for that. I worked in service for a few years and sometimes we can be pretty nasty when we don't get what we want. My nikoplex is in route for delivery today and looking forward to it. Be patient fellows I'm sure they're doing the best they possible can. Hope I did'nt offend anyone. Dan N. |

I am returning the 5.5-16.5x44 in Gloss/Plex that was on the Samples List. So, if anyone is looking for that one, it will be back soon...I am just waiting for the new one to get here, and I'll use that box and packing for the return.
Arrival to me is sched for 2 Mar , so add a few days for the return trip, and then the other one will be available from the Samples List, unless its committed already (but I doubt it.) Check with Stephanie for the details!
There was nothing wrong with this scope, I just wanted the lifetime warranty that comes with the new scope.

In seeing all of this talk/frustration over backorders, I don't understand why SWFA can't place a current inventory listing on their site much like their larger competitor. Using RFID technology would make this fairly seamless. It would be a great benefit to your customers. Nothing like ordering something and realizing that it's backordered for months. It may be a good deal but it's much less attractive when the wait is extensive.

Hunt, It would be awesome to have up-to-date inventory on the page like (competitor), but man would it be a pain in the balls to get it started, and the time and labor to get it up and running might never justify the potential gains from it. Im sure once the SWFA name gets bigger and better, you will see it.

If there is any doubt about what is or is not in stock for an online order, instead of bitchin' after the fact, why not ask if it is in stock when you call them to place the order? |

I don't know about you but when I place an online order I'm not talking to anyone. - I thought that was the norm when ordering by computer. Edited by brush_buster |

I second what brush_buster stated. Why have online e-commerce when you don't have item(s) in stock? I purchase online for expedient service and cheaper prices (in that order). If I can't get both of those features through an online sale, I'll go to another vendor online or I'll buy locally, pay tax and the higher price. However Smokey, you have emphasized a great point...The only way to buy from SWFA at this point in the game is to call and verify inventory before ordering....I learned my lesson the hard way (twice).

Yea, but your also saving a good bit of money waiting to get it from them.
And its not like they just didnt tell you. You were emailed right away. No one made you not cancel the order. |

That is true -
but when you are dealing w/ closeouts like these, they are subject to availability. especially for the price they are offered at. Can you really be that pissed?

AMEN, Johnny!!!!! 8 pages worth of bitching is enough, isn't it?!?!?!?
SWFA is doing all they can. I'm pretty slow, but I understand Chris's explanation clearly.
They have even provided you a place to "publically" throw a fit about it at their expense.
Cool out....

Just a quick update for the naysayers - I got the call from SWFA that my 6.5-20x44 BDC is in and ready to ship. My card was charged (yes, after they let me know it was in) and I should be getting it in a couple days. Sure, it was a long wait, but for the price why complain? In the end I got what I wanted at a price that can't be beat from a company that is nice enough to foot the bill for the best optics forum on the net. What more can you ask?

Mr. UPS Driver dropped mine off today. Just with a quick look through it, it looks like a great scope. I can't wait to get it mounted to my RRA Varmint. That's gonna be a killer combo.
