I know this topic pertains to scopes but I figured a lot of users have back up sights.  I have been researching and found the TROY DOA sight for $85.00 brand new.  It seems to be the cheapest on the web. I have some friends who ordered from them and said the company is reliable and quick. If anyone is interested here is the link.

If anyone has any other recommendations I would appreciate it.  I was about to buy a magpul prs gen 2 stock as well they have for $199.00

Any thoughts or suggestions, sorry if I am a bit off topic but I figured this was the best choice of where to post.

I appreciate the heads up, but the prices are better on www.ar-15tactical.com plus I have had nothing but bad experiences with Botach. Its like the twilight zone at that company.  They tell you what you want to hear then do not deliver.  I'm sure not everyone has had a bad experience but it was enough for me to move on....

I've had bad experiences with BoTach too, jut another data point.

My BUISs are all Yankee Hills Machine, the price is good, the product has never let me down, nothing fancy to break at the worst possible time.

The magpul stock is great for optics on an AR and/or unusually sized persons.  I am 6'5" and 210, I usually fit best behind a stock with a longer length of pull, I like my magpul PRS allot.  Be advised, it is heavier than other options.  Mine is on an AR10.  This is not the ideal stock for a light-weight gun.

Good point about the PRS and the weight.  Im using it for more bi-pod shooting.  On my other rifle I bought the ACS much lighter weight..Cool

I used to keep irons. But lately as I've been building new ones in more versatile calibers, I've been foregoing the iron sights and rather investing what I would have spent into better glass and scope mounts.
Aside from a combo Rock River in 5.56 / 50 Beowulf all of my current AR's are glass only with quick or semi-quick detach mounts. And when I re-barrel the 5.56 upper, most likely it's going to get a Vltor gas block and be set up mainly for solely long range verminating. So that means I'll be down to a 50 Beowulf with irons only.

For the most part these rifles are used for target shooting and hunting. I figure the worst scenario I can be in is some sort of Katrina type incident...and I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. Regardless, I have plenty of backup optics now.

Me too.
Thats not to say theres "better" BUIS out there, like the Troy, but I've never had a problem with YHM either.

I use an A.R.M.S. low profile 40SP and I absolutely love it.  Now trying to decide on an EoTech 512 or an Aimpoint CompC3 but I need to know if the 512 will fit on a rail with a buis and if the mount that comes with the C3 is high enough for co-witnessing
