im looking at either a zeiss or a Nikon m-223 or Leupold vx2  just wondering on what would be best.  i  cant decide on the illuminated fire dot sure do like the way it looks. i will be hunting varmints , deer and pigs with it and using the nd3 light so if you can help i would appericate it very much.

My dad has the M-223.  It's a real nice scope and bright to look through.  It surprised me how nice it was.  However, if you're planning a lot of night/low light stuff a illuminated reticle will be nice.

+1 on the Leupold VXR. Here is a link to a review of one. The also make a 4-12 if you want more magnification.

Welcome to the forum.Howdy
I have a 223 3-12x42 and it's a good scope for the price i would say.  The turrets clicks are exact ( but not as firm as my Leupy 4,5-14x50 Mark 4).
I have used it earley mornings and after sunset with no problems. Actully i was surprised of it´s brightness
I can't tell you much on the VX2 cause i have never seen through one.

My first choice would be a Trijicon Accupoint. Of the ones you mention the illuminated leupold appeals to me but I am convinced that Trijicon has the best illumination system tritium + fiber optic.

Trijicon Accupoints are excellent but I sure would like to find them for 500.00. I have two and they work great.
