Love my AR 15 in .223 with the accupoint 3-9 .

Anyway, The 6.8 will be my pig gun and considering going with 2.5 -10 accupoint or maybe VX-6 in 2-12.

The accupoint is great in low light, even under moonlight, but at night when I use a killlight the green dot washes out and the illumination is what draws my eye to the center.

Right now , true night vision, thermal, etc is not in the budget so I'm limited with funds.

Any thoughts, etc ?

I have heard way too many issues with the ND3s to buy one...

I have a green LED light that will light up to 200 yards and the red dot in a VXR or VX6 doesn't get washed out

I have an ND3 and had an issue or 2.

First, the pressure pad is very poorly designed, mine failed pretty quickly.  They sent a replacement, same design, same inherent weakness.  I treat it a bit more gingerly than I wish I had to.

Second, with the originals (like mine) they suck at low temsp, 35 or lower, output goes to hell, basically useless.  I fixed this in 2 ways, both work well: keep the unit in a warm pocket till needed, then put it on and go (mine is on a LaRue QD mount), or put a hand-warmer on it.  Both solved the problem, but it is still a problem.

As for output, I like the ND3.

It will spook pigs, especially at its tightest beam if you put the beam on the head.  Another option is to illuminate a spot in front of the pigs for a few seconds and walk in the light, they seem to do better with that process than they do with a quick, bright light.
