I've not used a chronograph with it, but used it to go Axis hunting a few years ago.  Devastating.  KO was immediate... fell in place.  I have fired it out to 500yds and it performs well out to that range.  When I shot the Axis, (I still had all my data book information) I had actually zeroed with 140gr and had the tables for the 175gr (which had been previously verified at the range).  I dialed the scope for the shot and POI was exactly where it was supposed to be.
It is a VERY effective round.  I've not deer hunted with it, but just because I get "stuck" on certain rifles.

No personal experience but, got a buddy that swears by them.  He's been using them with success for years.

I used to use it all the time before I started reloading.  I have used it on an elk with my 7 mag.  I was shocked at the damage it done to the body.  Baseballs sized exit holes on the ribcage and I hit him in the backbone and a chunk of meat and bone was pretty much missing for about 6 inches.  The shot was 140 yards.  It is an excellent round for elk.

I have used the round on deer. It does a great job at any angle.

Thanks everyone for the valuable information on this load. The reasons I was interested in this load are 1 it is not expensive. 2 The jacket protects the lead tip from any damage. 3 The bullet has a high b.c. so it retains its velocity and energy well at long range. 4 In spite of the heavy weight I heard this bullet opens up quickly and wide to make a large wound channel with adequate but not excessive penetration. I hunt black bear and I want my bullet  to use up most of it's energy in the bear.

I think it would be a great bullet for bear in the 7 mag. You wouldn't have to worry about a quartering shoulder shot that presents itself often.

My brother used that round on his elk last year.  Dropped the Elk like a rock at about 270yds.

Trays7940, thanks, this round seems to be consistantly deadly from what I am hearing on this forum. Another plus is you can probably buy a box of 7mm rem. mag. 175 core-llokt almost anywhere.
