I see SWFA has listed the new Swaro Z5's.  Anyone looked through them?

No, But I sure would like to buy one! Im looking for a new scope for another Deer rifle...I would love to have a 2x12x50 Z6 since Swaro does not make it in a Z5 or Z3 or any other Z.  I think a Z6 2x12x50 would be perfect for my needs. I own a 3x10x42 Swaro American and this is there low line of scopes..The little 3x10 Swaro is the best scope I have, not that I own that many, but its a excellent scope, beautifully clear glass, resolution, everything about it is excellent, I just want a tad lower end and the upper end of 12 to 15X would be great as well. I like to look at my shots when target shooting and I do NOT carry any optics at all when hunting cause I hate packing any more than I really need. I use my scope for checking stuff out when huntin, to me thats what its for partially!

The new Z5's are everything you would expect from a company like Swarovski not to mention the weight is very resonable on the 3.5-18 and the 5-25 considering the high power they are. I was impressed when I looked through them.

JF4545 I definately would not throw the Z5 3.5-18 out of your line up look through them next to the Z6 then look at the price difference before you buy a Z6 just my .02

I hope that I'm not hunting in the same area as you and see you checking me out thru your rifle scope.  Scopes are to be used to aim at a target.  Binoculars should be used to check stuff out.

The price on the Z-5 is certainly more doable than the Z6 Chris! Im going to consider one of those , I hear they (Z5) are built erector wise quite well. Better than the AV with the Leaf Spring System...I have to say though Ive never had any problem with my AV 3x10x42...I certainly would be able to see where my shots are placed with the 18 X upper end without the use of other optics.

Thanks Chris!  I look forward to seeing one.  They seem a bit more than I'd want for most big game rifles but a 3.5-18 might be perfect for a .243 that is used for coyotes, deer and the occasional antelope.

+1 on Creditman's remarks.  I recommend binoculars for scanning for game.  Not only is it safer, you'll see more game.

I just purchased a Z5 Tuesday. I'll give you the scoop on it Saturday after I've taken it to sight it in.
