I'm looking at getting one of these rifles in the near future and I am looking for comments/reviews/opinions/criticisms (anything!) of these rifles (such as how well is it made, accuracy, quality etc) from owners, former owners or people who have seen or used them:

1. Remington 700 SPS Varmint (or non-varmint model) (Is the stock any good?)
2. Remington 700 CDL (is it worth the extra money? (in Australia CDLs are expensive))
3. Ruger M77 International (Hawkeye or previous models) (how solid is the stock to barrel screw at the muzzle?)
4. CZ Rimfires (e.g. CZ-452)
5. Howa/Weatherby Vanguard Varmint

Post your pics plz.

Thanks.

Both Rem's should not dissappoint. The sps stock is good but there are better. Unless you are needing/wanting above average performance the stock is sufficient for "good" accuracy. The cdl is a good rifle and if for no other reason the cost is justified by it's holding value. Is it worth the extra cost for accuracy or durability, Probably not. Usually the grade and set of stock is the biggest difference.

I have the SPS varmint.  I never used the stock it came with.  I put on a HS Precision Police Sniper stock.  It was on sale so I had to.  Plus, I do not like the stock it came with.  Too ugly for my liking.  The CDL SF is on my short list.  I very much would like to have one.

Been hunting a Ruger M77 Mk II International in .308 for 9 years now and I have never had any problems with the screw that holds the muzzle cap on the stock.  Accuracy hovers just a hair over MOA, occaisionally dropping under MOA.  Not bad for a full wood stocked 18.5" barrel gun.
