i have a HS precision sock on a r700 vs , the problam for me as it is with most long guns is the LOP ( length of pull ) is a bit long ..and that the recoil pad is 1/4 " thick.... it's not that i can't shoot it, i can hold good groups , but it could be a bit more comfortable if i chopped the stock by about and inch and a half, then added a thicker recoil pad. ( shorting the LOP by about  3/4 of an inch ) now if this was a wood stock, i'd be busy cutting, and not posting..lol..but i have never cut into a composite stock before, and have no idea what i'll find...if i have to, i have access to composites and are familure with there use, just in case i'd have to re-weld or manufacture a system for the buttplate or mounting holes .. ( the rear of the stock sounds hollow ) ... i just wanted a heads up before i did anything stupid....lol..the last rifle r700sps, ( cheap injection molded plastic crap, that was too long as well ) i just re-stocked it with a bell and carlson, and ordered it to fit...(13 inch LOP w/ recoil pad )  but the hs is a good stock, that i'm happy with, except for the length and recoil pad......

Just thicker and stiffer if you can do wood you can do h-s  you will probably need to re-manufacture the mounting holes.

Once you get through the kevlar outer shell I think all you'll find is foam.
