I have an opportunity to pick one of these up and am curious about the experiences of people who own them. I would be using this as a gun that would be hunted with, although certainly not abused. I have heard bad things about the trigger pull being very very heavy on the double set trigger models (if you aren't using the set trigger obviously).

Anybody out there really like them or who can comment on accuracy, handling etc? I have always wanted one but they are expensive and never seemed to be in the cards until now.

Hunted with a .308 about 30 yrs. ago in wyo, and Ida. Had  a tip over Pachymer mount with a Kahles 4x scope, double sets, rotating mag, knife blade bold handle, leaf sights, just like all the pictures. Had a long lock time and awkward safety by todays standards. A used one today still gets about 1k. During their day they were advanced, but today are more of collectors- "jeez look at this". Considering a Kimber Montana, or for a little more a Cooper, I wouldn't-- again-- and more choice of cartridges.

Dale,
How was the trigger pull on yours? My understanding is that to make the set trigger mechanism function correctly when set, the trigger is forced to have a rather atrocious pull when shooting normally without first setting it.
