Has anyone seen or used an ANPVS-22 Universal Night Sight by Optical System Technology? It looks like a real sweet set up. It mounts directly in front of the day time optic and allows use of the day optic at night. Wouldnt that be cool, no more switching out complete optical systems or trying to maintain proper eye relief between the scope and your NVG's (to avoid an unpleasant magnum suprise). And lets be honest, even though some manufacturers claim no loss of zero when their mount is removed and then remounted I've always noticed a slight shift in POI. This would totaly solve that problem.

Edited: Got an email back on pricing. And I must say they are very, very, very proud of their product $8999.95!!!!! Guess I'll be sticking with the tried and true 14d for the time being.

I meant to post on this a long time ago.  I picked up a couple magazines to browse around in and they had one on two different rifles.  If that thing is as clear as they say it's gonna change low light sniping for sure.  I think we might see an influx of AN/PVS-10's come out on the civilian market.  I think it will really shine on AR platform sniper weapons since most of them have some type of rail system which makes it very easy to mount in front of a scope.  On a bolt gun with a fully free floated barrell you might have to build some kind of bracket to mount the optic in front of the day scope.  I think PVS-14's will still have there place with regular infantry and SF troops because these things are expensive and snipers you'd probably be the ones to benefit more than anyone.

No doubt the 22 will never replace the 14d. It looks much larger in diameter and is probably heavier. No NOD that is attached to the weapon system should ever replace what is strapped to your head. But it you gotta admit its a sweet idea & would sure would make a sniper or LE marksman's life easier. Just drop it in front of the day time optic and be ready for business. But as usual the cost for convienence is high.
