Well, after 3 weeks of not getting to go out an play I was starting to get more than alittle annoyed.
But, I finally got some trigger time behind this thing. Others have posted good reviews but I like to kick the
tires myself so to speak. This thing is built like a tank, but my 10X42M was too. The glass is as good or better than my 6500 (grumble, grumble). The Mil/Mil reticule is just outstanding. After playing with this thing I can't for the life of me see why anyone would build a Mildot scope with MOA turrets. Not knocking the old SS or my 6500. Well YES, BUSHNELL ya cheap skates, if the scope comes with a mildot reticule send it out with MIL turrets. If you can't zero this thing you need to take up knitting or something cause you can't shoot.   After I bore sighted the thing old school ( looked down the bore at the target at 100 yards I cranked the knobs to get center of target. Fired one round, went .3 mils right, .5mils up and split the diamond in a 1 inch sticky I had placed on the target. After my burst of laughter, people at the range were eyeing me. Okay, that was done so on now to a quick longer shot. My 178gr amax load pushes just at 2700 fps and at my range has 3 mil of drop at 500. Cranked in 3 mil up we had some wind from right to left so I gave .2 mil right and squeezed one off. A little under a second later folks heard the report from the gong and me busting into laughter again. This was way too easy. Dropped back down and played with cranking in different mils and hold under, left and right that amount at different stickies I had placed around my main target. Seventy rounds later I cranked her back to zero. Lined her up on my original target and fired off my last round of the day. It was in the diamond. Man I like having good days at the range. I let a couple of local LEO shoot some and play with the rig. They liked it a lot. One of the guys owned an old 10X and asked if he could upgrade. I told him to call CFII. It's a pity I have to send this back. I wonder if Barness needs a writing partner, I could grow into liking doing reviews for a living.

Sounds like a great day at the range man.  I have really thought about upgrading to the 3x9 just for the mil/mil if nothing else.

Very nice.  Seems there is a pattern with the 10xHD.

Optically, is the difference between HD and M truly noticeable?

the standard 10x is good and i can atest to that.  The HD i have not experienced but from all that has been said about it and trusting those completely i would say YES!

I moved from a 10x42M to a 6500 2.5-16x 42T. The glass on the HD is as good or a little better for my eyes resolution wise. Now the bells are the same so light gathering is the same @ 10X. I had an easier time seeing the target rings at distance.
That is strickly a funtion of glass coatings and light transmission. Yes, the glass is that much better, easily noticeable.
Also being a lefty, the rear paralax adjustment ring is easier that the reach over.
But if you have apehangers like me that's ok. LOL!
