Just finished ordering a new FN SPR A1 from Tactical Coordination ( on sale for 1249 + 35 shipping if anyone is interested) and am looking for some scope advice. I currently have a SS 10X HD that I am not using  with TPS rings. my question is this. Would this be adequate for this rifles capabilities. On a $1000 budget am I going to find anything better suited for this?, Any recommendations.
Thanks

For the use the 10X HD would do fine.  That said, you could take that scope and trade it in towards a SS 5-20 and only come out of pocket a small amount more than likely.  The variable power may come in handy if you ever use it for something else and the glass and extra magnification will be welcome at longer ranges to most folks.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Unfortunately the trade in value is only 500 clams and since I reside in Texas after taxes I am still out of a good chunk. And on top of that I really like the 10x hd. And hate to sell it. I may just have to splurge a little.

I have a 10x HD on my .50BMG and it is "adequate" for that...

If only shooting paper and steel, the 10X is fine. The 5-20 will open up many new options, but you don't "need" it.

Thanks for all the replies. I will probably mount the 10x hd and wait for a deal on a 5-20 hd and then pull the trigger.and have both
