ranburr,

I couldn't agree more.... but republican vs. democrat, 2nd ammendant vs. "gun control" and the "swift boat" issue set aside.... what bugs me is that this guy was in vietnam, "earned a silver and bronze star and 3 purple hearts" and came back home, threw his medals over the white house fence (supposedly), and jumped with both feet on the jane fonda band wagon accusing his commrades of murder ... and worse.

Today we have many of our nation's young people over in iraq in what could most conservatively be described as a dangerous and unpredictable situation, and most of the survivors will be comming home soon...

Kerry contributed greatly to the bad image that our vietnam vets had to face upon returning home, and dramatically negatively affected their lives for many years after the fact.

The war in iran is becomming less and less popular and these turncoats like kerry could very well create a climate that will soil the sacrifies that this nation's VOLUNTEER soldiers have made in this regard.

He betrayed the men that he ACTUALLY served with in vietnam, and I'm guessing that with a little convincing from hollywood and any other special interest group (that may have interest in his "post presidential" biography), he may very well betray the men and women that we have sent to afganistan and iraq to try to prevent another 911...

i dont have a hate towards democrats, but i have a hate towards liberals, and anybody that wants to take my guns. after all, gun control only means using both hands, and if these gang-bangers, as i refer to them as, in DC knew how to hold a gun properly, and aim, maybe they would kill each other, instead of innocent people.

Cory....

Gun control means that the individuals IN POWER can diminish or remove your's and mine's access to and ability to keep and use these tools that we so cherish....

(and ya better learn to shoot "weak side" one-handed as well )

Again this is just my opinion.... I may be wrong!

Knewt, I don't think you made a mistake.  We should go ahead and roll into Iran and Syria and get this crap over with.  I spent five years in uniform and I know how troop morale suffers under a poor President.  We do not want Kerry in office for many reasons.  Hopefully we won't have to worry about him and I do think that Bush will win.  But then again, I did not think there was any way Clinton could win a second term and I was positive that Gore would not even come close. So, what do I know?

On the topic of gun control tell Kerry his body guards cant have guns either. Honestly what are they aiming for? Name one country with gun control that actually delivers the trash they spout, can you? There over 190 countries in the world and none are crime free. Who needs a gun when you can hijack a plane with a fake bomb and box cutters? It would take me forever to chip away at the WTC towers with my .308. But 4 armed crew members each on 4 flights could have saved 3000 people. Imagine that, im ranting.

Just want to add some humor from Jay Leno about Kerry!! Enjoy!

The Secret Service has announced it is doubling its protection for John

Kerry. You can understand why - with two positions on every issue, he

has twice as many people mad at him." - Jay Leno

"We make jokes about it but the truth is this presidential election

really offers us a choice of two well-informed opposing positions on every

issue. OK, they both belong to John Kerry, but they're still there." - Jay Leno

"John Kerry will undergo surgery to repair his right shoulder. He

originally hurt it when he suddenly switched positions on Iraq." - Jay

Leno

"President Bush listed his income as $822,000. You know what John Kerry

calls someone who earns $822,000? Not even worth dating." - Jay Leno

"Well the good news for Democrats, now over half the country can

identify a picture of John Kerry. The bad news, the majority still thinks he's the dad from 'The Munsters."'! - Jay Leno

"John Kerry accused President Bush of catering to the rich. You know,

as opposed to John Kerry who just marries them." - Jay Leno

"They say John Kerry is the first Democratic presidential candidate in

history to raise $50 million in a three-month period. Actually, that's

nothing. He once raised $500 million with two words: 'I do.'" - Jay

Leno

We should all pray and vote that kerry does not worm his way into the white house. Regardless of whether or not he picks up a shotgun to shoot a few skeet for a photo op, this is a anti gun lib. He along with his fonda freaks would rather all of our guns be destroyed and melted than not. I love bush but I dont expect he will do away with the brady bill. He has given no indecation that he will. Had it been after nov. that might be a different storie. Sadly that is not the case. I would rather keep the bill and change nothing than to get kerry and chance more than I care to think about. If you care about it, get out there and vote, and get your friends to do the same.

Well, I'll vote certainly, and I'll vote for Bush.  Unfortunately, it is not going to mean jack since I live in the sunny, warm, fascist Republic of California and my vote is not going to change anything.  This state is going to go to Kerry.

Just a comment on Cory's post above:  Schwarzenegger is anti-gun despite being a Republican.  I fully expect that California government will soon prohibit everything from 50 Cal rifles (already passed state legislature and waiting for Arnie) to toothpicks (just give them a few years).

Koshkin, other than the weather and women, is there any difference between socialist CA and the Soviet Union?  It sound as if the Politboro is alive and well in Sacramento!

I wouldn't go quite that far, but it is getting there.  With our wonderfully sweet senators: Boxer and Feinstein, noone knows what'll happen.  I once had a chance to talk to Feinstein.  I believe she is a smart woman, unlike Boxer who is plain stupid.  Feinstein is smart; evil, certainly, but smart.  Considering all the fiscal problems that California has been having, you'd think that people would just stop and think for a moment: what the heck are we doing wrong?  But no, thinking these days is not politically correct.  We just assume that our mighty governor is going to do that for us.  Well our governator is actually is remarkably shrewd man who is capable of solving pretty complex problems.  Sadly, he is saddled with a "politburo" aka California legislature.  Until we realize that the ultra-liberal legislature is the root of Californian problems, California will slowly, but surely fall into fascism.

Maybe I should just move to Oregon.

Ilya

P.S. Unofficially of course, but there are lot more beautiful women in Russia than in California.  Than again my wife is Israeli.  Can you belive it: I've been married for 3 days already, and I still have not had to sell any guns.  I might actually get to keep them all.

Arnold is a Republican, but he is a very left wing Republican.  Unfortunately, he's always been rather firmly anti-gun.  He generally, avoids talking about the issue, but there is enough evidence out there.

I find it so ironic that the personages that can afford to live in gated compounds, bullet proof the walls and windows of their houses, surround themselves with body guards, and drive around in FULLY ARMOURED suv's are often so adament about removing the average citizen's right to defend themselves...

Many congression scholars have come to understand that the second ammendment intends to give the citizen the rights to:

1. Posess arms to protect themselves (collectively) from foreign interlopers or invaders.
2. Posess arms to protect themselves (collectively) from a tyranical domestic government.
3. Posess arms to protect themselves from personal deady threat.
4. Organize into groups that can be equiped and trained to realize and re-inforced the above 3.

It never said anything about guarenteeing the right to posess arms for hunting because at the time it would have been like guaranteeing the individual the right to grow crops. ( After all, are we not mandated by the bible to nurture and live off the fruits of the earth?) At the time, on this continent, hunting was as common as going to the supermarket is today.

Its almost comical that as a counter event to the Republican convention a bunch of liberal "humanitarian" (not to mention wealthy) actors have gotten together to "read out loud" and discuss the Constitution of the United States in NYC... to high paying tickets holders of course. I'm guessing that they either graze over or ignore the Bill of Rights and especially the 2nd Ammendant.

Personally, if I lived behind a shield of armour and 24/7 body guards I probably wouldn't have a 45 "cocked and locked" and sitting on the nitestand.... but I'd hope that I'd remember that there are others out there not as fortunate and secure.

After freedom of religion, freedom of speach, freedom of the press, freedom to assemble, and the freedom to petition.... the Second Ammendment SOLEY addresses the right to keep and bear arms. It is how we the people are given the right and ability to enforce the 1st Ammendant and all proceding 25 other ammendments.

Remember.... The more currupt and greedy a government gets, the higher it's priority to disarm its citizens.

Forgive me for "preaching to the choir".
