I have mounted a new Aimpoint M2 on my M4 build, and I have a few questions about zeroing the scope in.  I had taken a Frontsight class and they instructed the Aimpoint users to sight in the target using the top of the (red) dot at 50 yards.  I have also heard that you are supposed to use the center of the dot to sight in.  Which is right?

I'm trying to create a 50/200 yard Battle Sight Zero.  Any Aimpoint specific help would be appreciated.

Thanks... the question remains though... top of dot, or middle of dot for aiming point?

At 50 yards with a 4 MOA dot, I say middle of dot.

I'm not sure it really matters.

Aimpoints and Eotechs are for shooting "Minute of Man".

Good place to ask this question is on AR15.com

Different schools have different thought processess.  The standard thing is to use top-middle-bottom for 3 different ranges.

Bet you can't dop that under stress.

Zero that 4moa dot to be center-center at 25 yards.  After that you just but the dot where you need to drill the hole.  Gives you a battle sight zero to 250 yards.

Remember, a 0.224 hole uses a 5/16th tap
