I bought a Trijicon Accupoint 3x9x40  green triangle in march I really like it. It now has me wondering  how much brighter the 2.5x10x56 might be.Is it enough to save up and trade?

The lens-area for the 56 is (almost) twice as big compared to the 40.  If you can motivate the bulkier, heavier scope, it´s definitively worth it when it comes to low-light performance.

(above statement is only valid if lenses/coatings are the same at the compared scopes Wink)

Less mag on the bottom end, with more mag on the top end, and a bigger objective. Sounds like a winner to me! But it has been said already, will fit you and your type of hunting well? The 2.5-10 is 1.6" longer and weighs 8oz more. And it uses 30mm ring compared to the 1" rings that your 3-9 uses.
I have used neither scope, but the best feature about Trijicon's, IMHO, is the illumination. And it's on both scopes, so that is a wash. The 2.5-10 will most likely be better at night hunting. You have to decide if the features of the 2.5-10 offset the increase in size and money...

It depends on where you are setting your magnification and to some extend how old you are. Where do you set it or where would you like to set it in low light setting?

I don't do any night hunting but use the Trijicon 3-9 X 40 for deer, hogs, etc. It's fine. I can tell you that the 56 is huge and heavy. If you can put up with the weight / size, it will certainly do the job.

I thought on and researched those two exact scopes for quite a bit.  Went with the 3-9.  Of those who have used both, consensus was that the 3-9 is better for walking around, the 2.5-10 will get you some gain if you're stand hunting...

Like I said, I chose the 3-9 for all purpose, really lightweight use.
