I have a Browning A-bolt II Stainless Stalker chambered in .270 WSM that I will be mounting a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10X44 scope on.  Does any one have any recomendations for a quality base and set of rings?  I will be hunting primarily in west Texas for up to two weeks at a time so I don't want rings that would allow my scope to lose zero after a little bumping around or heavy shooting.  Also, I would prefer a low mount, is that possible with a 44mm objective?  Thanks for all the rec y'all provide.

Do you have any experience with the Talley lightweight aluminum mounts?  Are they the same high relibility as the originals?

+1 on that. I have no experience with the aluminum mounts, but would try them if what they make with tool steel is any indication.

I have them on a Rem 700 and love them.  The one piece lightweight mounts have not failed me yet.  I had them on a previous A-bolt and had no problems there either.  They do hold up to the mag. recoil vey well, just make sure to use lock tight.

I contacted Talley Mfg. today after getting info from you guys and they were as polite and helpful as possible.  They were able to awnser my questions about what height rings (low) and even have a military discount available.  Thanks for the info.
