I have a Tikka Whitetail Hunter with the 695 magnum action.  I've had a scope & ring set up on it I was not terribly satisfied with and am going to change.  In fact, I've had more than one set of mounts on this gun, it's just been a problem child to get fitted correctly with a  scope and mount.  Burris mounts - shifted.  Warne mounts, heavy & clunky.  Talley mounts, wouldn't fit the scope.

Therefore, I'd like to ask about both the scope and mount choices.  It seems the length of the action combined with today's short formula scopes creates a real problem trying to get a good fit.  I'd like to go back to the Talley mounts, but then require a good scope that's a long formula tube.

The caliber is .338 Winchester magnum, recoil is a factor, as is eye relief.

Do the Bushnell 4200 series offer enough tube length to mount on this gun in Talley's?  Has anybody else had experience with the Tikka long actions?  I'm open to any good (Nikon Monarch, Leupold VXIII, Bushnell 4200, etc. type glass) in solid mounts.

Thanks, 900F
