Does anyone here have any experience with a Shepherd brand scope ?
The reticle setup seems interesting & I'm interested in comments, good or bad from personal experience.

Thanks in advance

Used one, did not buy. "One shot zero" claim is true, in my experience, and it was good out to 300yd on ballistic circles with 3006 V2. Not quite the glass quality I wanted, but not bad. I expect at longer ranges it might get "tiring" due to "haze"/"graininess" . Reticles tend to get cluttered.
Some things are excellent, but glass is only "good". There are better optics/glass for same or less. However, the "tricks" are good. It is a good hunting unit, but I was always a little leery of it. Hard to beat the zero, and as I said, DEAD ON out to 300. Always wanted to try it further, but not badly enough to buy.
Bottom line, a bit pricey for the quality, to me. I like the tricks, but could not justify the cost.
I have seen GREAT reviews on it... see if you can try one somewhere. You may find it good for you.
Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.

There are some who do not fear death... for they are more afraid of not really living

Thanks, anybody else ?

I'm looking at the possibility of one on a Savage 93R17.
I used a Barska this last prarie dog trip, but was considering something different.
The Barska doesn't "live down" to the bad rap I've heard/read about them (6-18), but I've heard a lot of good comments about the Shep's for big game hunting applications. Just wondering about varmint use.

thanks.

Shepherd scopes are overpriced for what you get, IMO.
A new Nikon Monarch with a BDC would be a less expensive and equally effective alternative.
YMMV.

Do a forum search and you'll see several comments on Shepherds that are less than stellar.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

I've read a few posts about them & it seems like it's a series of price/glass clarity/busy reticle vs usefullness issues.
But I'm still looking.
Thanks for your input !
