Obviously an older generation than the ones I have seen photos of in use by the Chinese Military,  these are fiber optic based but video based is the ticket.  The Chinese have some video system based weapon sights that can be held around a corner to engage a target without exposing yourself.  We probably have some also but no where near enough in the hands of our troops.  I really forsee a video based hunting or sniper rifle scope in the not too distant future probably the only thing holding it back is the effect of recoil on the parts. From playing with current video cameras you can imagine the zoom ability and low light amplification that could be built in and eye relief, parallax, cheekweld would not be an issue, like an aimpoint what you see is what you get and record your hunt on an SD card at the same time, probably with a built in range finder as well. I remember what happened with Camera equipment and Digital, my high dollar Hasselblad lenses became worthless over night.

Not sure I'd wanna be able to look around a corner and see 1,000,000,000 chinamen coming for me.

Also, this system does not good against the explosive rounds now being tested, they detonate at a predetermined distance and, in effect, shoot around corners.

So...

Not to worry RC, they provide a nice off switch for when that happens! Smile

Didn't we have the "future warrior" system where the video feed of the cam on the rifle could be uploaded to commanders or just about anywhere in the world.  All the solders were linked and wore a computer and had basically an info overload.
