For you .338 afficionados and Berger VLD fans!!!................Rumor has it that Berger will introduce target and hunting VLD bullets in the .338 cal, which will have the usual great accuracy, hi flying BCs and the same explosive DRT (little to no tracking) wound channel characteristics as all the other Berger hunting bullets. Don`t stop there!Thinking Maybe adding a .375 cal hunting VLD to that list too??Big Grin.......Yippee

Berger has also added some updated info on their web site which explains the "how to" for obtaining the best "sweet spots" for hunting loads (magazine loadings) and for one round at a time (target range) loadings (COALs that exceed the magazine`s length).

For great accuracy, it is not necessary for the Berger bullets to be jammed into or barely touching the lands (exceeding the magazine`s length in most cases) as was previously reported.

Sign Me Up - I used the 190gr VLD in my 300WM before I traded up to a 338WM... Never Killed anything with that bullet but it shot very well..

That is exceptionally good news, Squeezer.  I have been hoping for VLDs for the .338.  Looking for max performance in a new rifle...

Never tried the Berger bullets, they seem very interesting, but not a whole lot of load data.
