Minox HG's are quite exceptional for the bucks. You can spend a whole lot more to only gain very little over these.

I have Steiner high end 8x30's and Leica Military 8x30's.  I looked for Fujion 8x30 military style, but the people who are thier service provider said on thier web site that the Stieners were better (at least that's how I read it).  I found the Zeiss Conquest a bit cheesy, but the pair I handled seemed to work well; very sharp, clear and smooth.

People are probably tired of my posting my love for Nikon Premier LX.
Widest FOV and fantastic, clear glass.
read about them here....http://www.betterviewdesired.com/Venturer-LX-32s.php
And here....http://www.birdwatching.com/optics/nikon_venturer.html
I have 8X32's available, NIB for $575.

I have not seen the Minox HG 8x33 (only the 42mm) but i suspect that they do offer a fantastic quality/price ratio.

The Leica Trinovid 8x32 and Swarovski SLC 8x30 cannot be surpassed at that price. Nikon LX 8x32 are on sale now ($700) at several places, and they are just as good.  Leupold Gold Ring HD 8x32 will also probably serve you for a lifetime, maintain high resale value, and can be found at about $700, but they are heavy for a 32mm (i have not seen them).

I have a set of Swaro SLC 8x30's, their very light, under 20oz's, work very well. For me and what I use them for, I consider (x)x 30 and (X)x32 compacts compared to my bino's (x)x42's and (x)x50's. I don't like the smaller compacts like 10x25's that you were asking about on another post of yours.

I would not buy a 20 or 25 mm compact binocular either, unless it is a super premium one. They are difficult to hold steady because they are small and most of them have 2 hinges. I did find one Zeiss (single hinge) quite nice, and the small Leica Ultravid is also great.
