I have almost purchased all of my reloading equipment and will be reloading for 7mm-08 and 308.  Is there a powder that would work well in both?  I am looking at 139-140 grain bullets for the 7mm-08 and 150-168 grain bullets for the 308's.  From what I have read the following powders have been recommended in both:

Varget
RL15
IMR4064
IMR4895

Anyone have any other suggestions or feedback?  Any help would be appreciated.

I like Varget.  I use it in .308, .243, 223, 223 WSSM.  It works great is all those and does not give me temp issues when shooting hot or cold.  RL15 will not be as stable that way.

Downside to varget is some say it varies a little from lot to lot.  I buy it in bulk and then mix the lots all together, so I am not to concerned about it.  But if you were just buying one lb at a time, that is one thing to consider.

I do the 5 gallon bucket mix myself. I use varget for, 204ruger, 223, 22-250, 243, 308, 30-06 7wsm, Varget is a good powder.

I like varget and I like R15, both are very similar.  Neither have proven temp sensitive to me.

RL 15 is very temp sensitive in my 6BR. I did gain 90 fps using it over Varget, but when temps got above 74 degrees, I got sticky bolt lift, bigtime. If fact, I had to put my loaded rounds in a lunch cooler with ice, to continue shooting a match. I only shoot Varget now in my 6BR with 105-108 gr Bergers, and .308 Win. with the 155 gr Scenars.

I also load for both and have used 4064 and R15 with good results.  Located in South ARK so afternoon temps above 74 a good bit of the year.  May lose a little in winter but no pressure problems in warmer weather.

I use Varget and IMR 4350 and RL15 but you need to try different loads in your particular rifle and see what works best. Varget is a good bet though.

I use Varget also on my .308 & 243:

Rem.5R milspec 11.5 twist...190grn Sierra HPBT,Varget 40g
    "                            "             168 grn Nosler HPBT,Varget 43.5grn

Rem 700 Police 20"HB 9 twist...75grnHornady BT'A'max,Varget 22.5grn...Don't know why this 9 twist works so well with 75grn bullets,but it does!
