I need to know what you guys think. I know the Zeiss is gonna have better glass, but what about tracking/repeatability? Will it be as good as the Leupold 30mm Long Range? Also, how is their service in case it isn't? I think they too have a lifetime warranty, correct? This will be going on a 1000yd rifle, replacing the 16X SS I have on it now. Do you think the 45inch of adjustments would be a problem? If so will the Burris rings with the inserts fit on Leupold dovetail mounts.

No takers on that one huh....for you IOR guys, I think the 4-14 or 3-18 tactical might make the best of both worlds. Not as much magnification and I really didn't want to spend over $1000 but.....Chris why don't you have the pics of the new ones? The new ones that have the flat/wide elevation turrets. The new 3-18s seem to be all first focal plane also, not too hip on that. Does the 4-14 come with the flat elevation, one of your competitors has one listed but doesn't have a pic either. Of course I know your price would be better, so I was just wondering if it is a type-o.

After shooting with the luepold VX-L 56mm, and my new Nikon 6x24x50 monarch, I would have to tell you to at least look through the Nikon. Myself and the friend who has the luepold thought the Nikon was better, and 400bucks less.

Between the Leupold and Conquest, no question the Conquest will be better optically.  The Conquest also gives up nothing with regard to tracking, etc.  Customer service, so I've heard, is also prompt & professional with Zeiss.  Personally I'd opt for the Conquest every time.

The IOR scope is nice, glass is clear, reticule is nice, and the elevation turret allows you to go way out without making a full turn (a .308 with a 100 yard zero could reach 900 yards without starting the second revolution - which is nice for those who have ever gotten lost on an elevation turret.)

I only had 2 real criticisms of the scope.  First, the rear section of tube where the rear ring mounts is small.  You only get about 1.5 inches of mounting room, which wasn't enough for me when mounting the scope on a long action.  I spoke to IOR (another tricky thing but we won't consider that a fault on the scope) and they said mounting the scope with 2 rings on the forward tube was OK and would not void the warranty.  That scenario goes against many things I've been taught, so I opted not to do that.  If you are mounting on a short-action, this might not be an issue.  But it might.

Lastly, at the lowest magnification, you see tube around the image, meaning a decrease in FOV at the bottom end.  As you increase the power, you can watch the down-range image take up more area in the ocular.  At the lowest power setting, a relatively large amount of the image is tube.

That said, it is a good scope, great glass, and well worth the asking price.

Mine is gone, replaced by a USO.

My final advice: if you need a really good scope in the $1,300 range and absolutely cannot spend the extra few hundred on a NightForce or extra $1,500 more on a USO, get the IOR (or find a trusted source selling a used Nightforce or USO.)  If you can afford to spend more, you will not be disappointed by the increase in build quality, glass quality, and overall features of S&B or USO.  I understand that everyone cannot spend $2,000 on a scope, and IOR does a great job of offering something between a SuperSniper and a USO.
